Tunjice - A Natural Healing Oasis

Cyclists will approach Tunjice from the Vrhovje direction, encountering a unique piece of green paradise known for its tranquility. Tunjice boasts the baroque church of St. Anne (Sv. Ana) and is renowned for the Healing Oasis of Tunjice, captivating with its natural energy forces and numerous beneficial effects on well-being. Among other things, it accelerates regeneration and revitalizes the body and spirit. The natural healing oasis is situated amidst a mixed forest, where several energy centers and the Živa Voda (Vivid water) Spring converge on a gentle slope.

First Ascent  - KOM and the battle for the Polka Dot Jersey

The route passes through Tunjiška Mlaka, where cyclists will soon encounter a marked segment for the first mountain ascent (and the only one for the shorter - Race route) at approximately the 45th kilometer. Cyclists will have the opportunity to compete for the polka dot original Tour de France jersey, sponsored by Gorenjska Banka, on this section of the route.

The ascent through Laniše becomes steeper and leads through Sidraž to the finish of the mountain ascent on Šenturška Gora, a place located in a neighboring municipality. The mountain segment is 5.8 km long with an average gradient of 5.3%. Shortly after the mountain peak, the first refreshment station is located.

And some Good News! - DOBRE NOVICE!

DOBRE NOVICE! (meaning Good News) is a six-month artistic project involving creative dialogue between internationally renowned Belgian artist William Sweetlove, who has exhibited worldwide for over 50 years, and twenty-five contemporary artists from six countries, including Slovenia and Kamnik.

The presentation of this bold project took place at various locations in Kamnik on March 14, 2024. On this occasion Matej Slapar, Mayor of Kamnik Municipality, stated:

The exhibition, spanning from the largest botanical park in Slovenia to the charming medieval town center of Kamnik, surprises and inspires with its 795-year history, carrying a regional, cultural, and historical message.

Art and culture will be the central themes of Slovenian tourism in the years 2024 and 2025, which the Slovenian Tourist Board will globally promote during these two years. The artistic project DOBRE NOVICE! signifies the intertwining of culture and tourism, along with all the synergies they bring hand in hand.

The project partners include Kamnik Municipality, the Inter-municipal Museum Kamnik, the Kamnik Tourism and Sports Institute, and supporters such as the Slovenian Tourist Board and Tourism Ljubljana. In honor of the culture that connects Slovenia, the United States, Italy, Belgium, Germany, and Lebanon in this project.
