The L'Etape series takes place all over the world

The L'Etape series takes place all over the world – this year, 32 events will be held in 24 countries, where more than 50,000 cyclists are expected, and the "total route" of longer distances (called the Race) will be 3,500 km long. The routes always take place in picturesque environments: hilly, mountainous, flatter and at a wide variety of altitudes with varying levels of difficulty due to the difference in altitude meters.

This year, the L'Etape series season opening was held in Ecuador, already on 29/01/2023, where the stage took place at 2,600 m above sea level and reached a height of 3,000 m above sea level. An amazing experience for sure.

Each event in the L'Etape series is a unique experience and offers a unique opportunity to get to know the country, its culture, landscape and create new (sporting) bonds and make (cycling) contacts. Sports and recreational events are thus becoming an increasingly convenient and healthy excuse to get to know the destination where the event takes place. Healthy, because it encourages us to do sports more regularly, since we have a goal: participation in the event. Handy, because getting to know a destination through sports is much more authentic than if we act as an "ordinary" tourist. We connect more spontaneously and basically with the environment and the locals, the language is more relaxed.

The premiere of L'Etape Slovenia attracted local cyclists from all over Slovenia and 150 cyclists from another 22 countries: from neighboring countries (Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy), from Europe (Estonia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Macedonia, Serbia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland), Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and the USA.

Locals already know that Slovenia is an interesting cycling destination that attracts guests from abroad with its cuisine, hospitality and many unspoiled natural spots, but we are also discovering new things little by little.

And now the second I feel Slovenia L'Etape Slovenia waits for you. Welcome everyone. Welcome to the region where many top cycling aces were born. Where Matej Mohorič, Tadej Pogačar, and once also Tadej Valjavec have breathed the fresh air of the Gorenjska region and pedaled the route of L'Etape Slovenia many times. All locals, as the route leads through their hometowns. Primož Roglič, Gorazd Štangelj, and the legendary Franc Hvasti rode and still ride through the regions of 11 municipalities of the Gorenjska region, which are considered a true cycling training ground. The diversity of the terrain offers breathtaking views.

Welcome everyone. Register by 30/04/2023 for a shorter, 70 km long or longer, 138 km long route and experience the race across France. Cycling on closed roads, technical assistance on the route, refreshment stations and – a peloton of cyclists, of which you are an indispensable member!

By registering until April 30, 2023, you are also competing for a bike ride with Matej Mohorič, the ambassador of L'Etape Slovenia. We will draw 10 winners, who will spend a Saturday, presumably in May, in his company.
