L'Etape by Tour de France vs. the Tour de France - Week 3

L’Etape by Tour de France series is here to make you feel like a Tour de France rider when you take the start of one of our events. That’s why we organize events in so many countries, to give you a chance to live the experience of riding the biggest cycling race in the world!

Let’s dive into the last part of this year’s Tour de France route from L’Etape’s point of view.

Stage 16

In 2019, the Tour de France already used a very similar stage. The main difference was the finish line at the top of Prat d’Albis, but this route offered a great show for the whole day! The rider who hopes to win the stage will have to manage the steep slopes of the Mur de Péguères before descending all the way down to Foix.
If you want to feel like Simon Yates or Warren Barguil, who both won in Foix in the last 5 years, you should give a try to L’Etape Australia. The 2 loops around Macquarie Pass will warm your legs up before the grand finale on Saddleback Mountain. Here, you will have to focus on the stunning coastal views that await you at the top to conquer the steepest sections of over 19%!

Stage 17

A short and sweet stage in the Pyrenees is always a tricky one. After 16 stages, the riders will feel the fatigue in their legs, but a bad day here could ruin the race for some of them. With 4 mountain passes in 60 km, the end of the stage will be demanding.
The last time the Tour had a stage finish in Peyragudes was in 2017, when Romain Bardet surprised everyone by taking the victory as a puncheur in the last meters of the final climb.

Stage 18

Final day in the mountain for this edition of the Tour de France. The climbers will have to give it everything to create some more gaps before sealing the overall classification in the last time trial.
In 2014, Vincenzo Nibali won the stage finishing in Hautacam before wearing the Yellow Jersey on the Champs-Elysées 3 days later.

Stage 19

Sprinters will be happy to be done with mountains. This stage should not escape from them, with rather flat roads all day long.
If you’re a sprinter as well, you might be looking for the Tour de France experience on a flat course rather than riding something as difficult as L’Etape du Tour. L’Etape Malaysia has got you covered!
140 km of flat roads on the Desaru coast with gorgeous views over the beautiful beaches where you will be able to relax after your race.

Stage 20

The last time trial of the Tour de France is always a treacherous one. Anything can happen. Tadej Pogacar proved it well in 2020 when he overcame a 1-minute deficit to defeat Primoz Roglic and win the Tour de France.
This 40 km long time trial is the longest individual time trial since 2014.

Stage 21

The traditional finish in Paris will once again close the 2022 chapter of the Tour de France in the most beautiful manner. The parade and the criterium-like race on the Champs-Elysées always has a special taste, especially for the sprinters of the peloton who dream of winning this prestigious stage.
L’Etape Rio could be seen as very similar to this stage. First, you’ll have to conquer the “Mesa do Imperador” before heading back to the city and riding 2 loops in front of the most famous beaches in the world. You will then be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the Brazilian city.
