Video clip: Early-bird winners spent a day with Matej Mohorič
The early-bird registration lucky winners, and some invited guests spent a cycling day with the ambassador Matej Mohorič on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Finally, the sky cleared up after the mostly rainy May weather on a Saturday, 20th so we were able to organize a bicycle-themed gathering of the lucky winners with the ever-smiling Matej Mohorič, ambassador of L'Etape Slovenia.
We have drawn 12 lucky winners who registered during the early registration period for the Ride - 70 km or Race - 138 km long I feel Slovenia L'Etape Slovenia by Tour de France, which will take place on September 3, 2023, with a start and finish in Kranj.
Cycling Team Kranj
With the meeting point at the Cycling Team Kranj, the cycling adventure led along part of the longer / 138 km/ L'Etape Slovenia route through the sprawling idyllic village of Besnica to the village of Njivice, from where the route leads to the starting point of a climb to Jamnik, at the top of which - when it goes for real - a second king of mountain finish with a marked segment to fight for the polka dot jersey, the same as in the Tour de France.
But to recreate as much as possible a real cycling experience, we paid a great amount of attention to secure safety. Thanks to the Kranj Cycling Club, which provided technical assistance and an accompanying vehicle, and our partner Vitalgo who organized a refreshment station in Podblica. This was followed by a mandatory photo shooting at the top of Jamnik and a descent down the same route into the valley and returning to the meeting point. All participants who ordered this year's Triglav-crowned L'Etape Slovenia cycling jersey, manufactured by Alé, received it on this day. We would like to thank to all partners for making these experiences possible.
Saturday cycling, on which socializing was in the foreground, was thus spent in a relaxed ride, mastering the technique, and getting to know the people of L’Etape Slovenia. We also captured all highlights in a short video >> watch it now!
